Building Cultural Safety: Companion Resource Guide

Recommended resources for the Pîkiskwêtân Indigenous Learning Series workshops

The Guide

This guide aims to build upon the content of the Building Cultural Safety workshop from Pîkiskwêtân: The Indigenous Learning Series, facilitated by the Indigenous Directions Leadership Council

These resources provide additional information on the topics of cultural safety and cultural competence. You will find books, webpages and reports demystifying stereotypes of Indigenous peoples and discussing institutional discrimination, as well as resources aimed to help you reflect on your own biases and build your own cultural competence.
